BOOK REVIEW: But God Can: How to Stop Striving and Live Purposefully and Abundanty by Becky Kiser
In the dedication, Becky Kiser tells her daughters, ‘My loves, you are only meant to be yourself.’ I jumped into this book on a school trip with my daughter and her class to Atlanta…and being surrounded by all of those precious and varied personalities as I read those oh so valuable words…I already knew I was going to love this book.
Y’all, if you’re ready to dig deep and search within in your very core and find what is truly holding you back, and find the lies the enemy is telling you, that the world wants you to believe…this is your book.
If you’re looking for some fluff to tell you you’re doing fine as you are, this ain’t it.
If you’re looking for a book that will you are are whole and wonderful as you were created and you have a beautiful foundation to build on…this is your book.
From the introduction to the very end, it is as comfortable and honest as it is deep reaching healing. You will find accountability, laughter, biblical truth, uplifting beauty in your pain and your past – and your present!
The catch will be this – you have to be ready to tell the truth. If you can’t tell the truth to yourself and to God (He knows it anyway), you will stay in a perpetual state of stuckness and fatigue. Be ready to feel some feelings and work through your stickiness. And, more importantly, be ready to experience moving past what is holding you back and use your experiences to your advantage and to God’s glory, or be able to set them aside if that’s what needs to happen.
I would love to put 5-10 copies of this book on my shelf to hand it to every woman that steps through my door.
Step by step, you will be working through the process as if you have a life or business coach sitting right . there with you on your most comfortable. you’ll walk through all of your peaks and valleys Work through it alone or with a friend or two. I think this book would be so great to work through with your bestie!
Becky has provided us with a pure and honest hands on guide to get our lives into gear and live a purposeful and abundant life! And she has done so in a relatable way that makes for light reading of deep truths. Becky isn’t ask asking us to do anything she hasn’t done herself, as she shares throughout the book her experiences. I love, particularly, where she shares a bit about how ‘shortcuts’ aren’t always actually shorter. you’ll see what I mean…and maybe you have a mom that liked back roads, too. My mom did; and now I am that mom. So, yes, you’ll put in the work, but you’ll do so with great joy and such a sense of purpose and release.
I would love to put 5-10 copies of this book on my shelf to recommend to every woman that steps through my door, and I think you’ll agree…but you won’t know until you check it out!
