Nashville and surrounding area – Shelters & How to Help

*UPDATE: 3/8/2020

A Mt. Juliet Resident, Kennedy Hunt, was kind enough to create a spreadsheet of Relief Efforts & Oppoturnities – it is a WONDERFUL and very extensive list –

You can view the list directly by clicking here, in case of updates: TENNESSEE TORNADO SUPPORT or by downloading this PDF – current as of 1:00 pm CST, 3/8:

*List updated 3/5/2020* If you know of any other efforts or needs that I can add, please comment!*

Yep. We got out of bed for this one. Yes, we are safe. Worst at our home was some insulation and debris to be picked up and keep the pups safe.

Around us? Devastating losses…homes, schools, churches, lives, businesses. Nashville is a strong community and will bounce back. In the meantime, we have each other take care of. Most of us just taking care of the immediate needs of friends, neighbors, and family.

Shelters that I am aware of:

Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet

Centennial Sportsplex, Nashville

Margaret Maddox YMCA, Nashville

Putnam Co. YMCA

East Magnet High School, Nashville

*Nashville Farmers Market Shelter is currently closed due to power outage. (8:30 am 3/3/20)

How to Help or Get Help:

The Bridge Fellowship is providing meals, snacks, gift cards, and needs for a Special Needs classroom that has lost EVERYTHING. I have personally worked with the teacher of this class, and she is an INCREDIBLE asset to this community. I can personally vouch for her, and assure that your donation will be put to good use and DIRECTLY serve her students.
