Confessions of a curly girl…

Some days, I don’t want to deal with the process. The washing upside down. The perfect product application. The drying time (for me, without using the diffuser, that is HOURS). Sometimes you just want to stand in the shower and let the water run. And just stay there.

So that’s what I did today. And Sunday. Sunday, I did do a cowash, but didn’t do it upside down. So, this post is just to say – if you’re just starting your curly journey, or even if you’re way into it…don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It’s ok to just ‘NOT’ today. Your hair and your curls will bounce back. And maybe you won’t even notice a difference.

And you know what? You can go ahead and apply that to the rest of your life. All of it. It’s ok to just ‘NOT’ today. You can give it your ‘some’ today. Your ‘some’ is sometimes enough.

That’s all I have this week. Lots going on in the world. Lots going in my little world and in my home. And I’m just tired. I just don’t have much to give. And, so, I’ll do what I can to fill myself back up this week. Are you doing the same?

So, I got up and took a shower. Got dressed. Did nothing. Then a little more nothing, and now here I am sharing my nothing with you. And, hopefully, I’ll actually get my work done today…Didn’t get out of my head long enough to do any of it yesterday. It is what it is!

What are you up to today?

Here’s a verse to encourage you in case you’re in the same place I am this week:

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
